About Us:
Information center “Window on America ” was officially opened by the ambassador of The United States in Ukraine Carlos Pascual on October, 25th 2002 in Lugansk Regional Universal Scientific Library named after M. Gorky on the base of the department of literature in foreign languages, developed the start of the American and Ukrainian governments partnership and claimed the supervision of the US Embassy in Ukraine.
In our center users may use the following resources for free :
- get anyinformation about The Unites States of America;
- bookish resources by modern U.S. authors in different fields of knowledge;
- up-to-date information about programs of cultural exchange and U.S. educational institutions;
- open and free access to information resources, internet and databases on CDs and DVDs;
- use audio and video resources;
- use computers and copy machines;
- use English learning software ROSETTA STONE;
- use WiFi and Skype;

On May 5th took place the regular meeting of the members of Talk Club “Steps in language communication” of “Window on America” centre. The club discussed how the Internet, books, videogames, TV and movies influence the ability to produce original and unusual ideas, or to make something new or imaginative. The discussion was very interesting and included 33 participants - including Peace Corps volunteers, students, teachers, psychologists, jurists, medics, etc The session was presented by the PCV - Wyoming McKenzie.
